If you haven’t already noticed, I use AI-generated illustrated images a lot.
Partly because I genuinely like how they look, They do something to my brain.
Mood, texture, atmosphere — all without needing perfection.
But also because I don’t always get out into nature as much as I’d like.
Energy fluctuates, Mental health does its thing, The weather exists, Life happens.
Pretending otherwise doesn’t feel honest.
Using AI images lets me keep sharing ideas, moods, and nature-based concepts even when physically being outside to take pictures isn’t possible. They’re a way of staying in conversation with the natural world, not a replacement for it.
These images aren’t stand-ins for real landscapes or lived experience. They’re placeholders, visual companions and creative tools.
Not claims of presence.
When I can take my own photos, I do. When I can’t, I use what’s available.
That feels more truthful than saying nothing at all.
